Calleguas Creek Widening

FEMA’s efforts to update FIRM maps in Ventura County resulted in the need to widen a portion of Calleguas Creek between HWY 101 and Pleasant Valley Road. Jensen Design & Survey, Inc. provided engineering and survey services, including design for widening of the existing flood control facility under the jurisdiction of the Watershed Protection District. The channel bottom width increased to 110 feet and rock riprap bank protection was added to allow for a soft edge at the top of bank to minimize habitat disruption. JDS managed the project and provided construction documents, As-Builts, Hydrology Report, and staking services while coordinating with multiple agencies including Watershed Protection District, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Environmental Protection Agency, the City of Camarillo, and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
