We have performed civil engineering design, permitting and construction assistance for several key projects at Houweling’s Tomatoes 160-acre facility located in the Oxnard Plain. Since their inception in 1996, we have been instrumental in the company’s infrastructure including the original Phase 1 greenhouse which is a 20-acre metal and glass greenhouse for hydroponic tomato production.
Other projects include packing, cooling, and loading facilities. Most recently, we assisted with their multi-million dollar greenhouse expansion (Phase 5 & 6) which has become Houweling’s Gold Standard for tomato greenhouses installations worldwide. To power these operations, Houweling contracted us to assist in the design, permitting, and construction staking for two Combined Heat and Power Tri-Generation units which increased Houweling’s fruit yields, furthers their position as an industry leader in sustainability, and provides much needed power to the California electrical grid.
