JDS provided engineering and survey services, including design for widening of the existing flood control facility under the jurisdiction of the Watershed Protection District. FEMA’s efforts to update FIRM maps in Ventura county resulted in the need to widen a portion of Calleguas Creek between HWY 101 and Pleasant Valley Road. The channel bottom width is to be increased to 110 feet, with rock riprap bank protection added. The design allows for a soft edge at the top of bank to minimize habitat disruption. JDS coordinated with Watershed Protection District, Corps of Engineers, Environmental Protection Agency, the City of Camarillo, and the Department of Fish and Game. We also provided project management, construction documents, As-Builts, Hydrology Report, and staking services.
