Saticoy Operations Yard

When the antiquated Ventura County Public Works maintenance yard needed to be relocated to make room for the development of the Riverpark Community in Oxnard, Jensen Design & Survey, Inc. was contracted as the project engineer to construct a new Ventura County Public Works service yard facility on a 22-acre property located on Wells Road in Saticoy, adjacent to the Santa Clara River. This design-build project was nominated by the American Public Works Association (APWA), and JDS was nominated and awarded the “Project of the Year” Award by Engineers Week in 2007 for outstanding work. JDS worked with the County of Ventura throughout the entitlement approval process, and prepared improvement plans, including grading, drainage, wet utilities, and also provided construction survey and staking services while coordinating regular progress meetings with the contractor, County of Ventura, objective peer reviewer, and other regulatory officials to meet project goals and deadlines.
